Obscura is our first foray into making competitive yoyos, inspired by our personal favorites such as the Kagerou & Mirage by Japan Technology, Noir by Empathy, and Liminal by YYR. While we were taking inspiration from these other models, we wanted to carry forward the design sensibilities of our previous models in a new direction aimed towards performance. Obscura features inset plastic rings that sit flush on its profile. The heavier POM rings provide a sturdier feel with more oomph, while the lighter PC rings are zippier and debatably a little more casual feeling. We really enjoy having 2 rim choices on a competitive model so that you can practice with a lighter, less tiring version of the same exact spec yoyo and are able to switch to the heavier version while barely having to adjust to a “different” yoyo.
